Promotion of the EDUCIRC2022 project at the conference “Reset economy – Green planet”

The EDUCIRC2022 project was presented in the informal part of the “Reset Economy – Green Planet” conference organized by Wireless Media Group (WMG) at Mona Hotel on April 22, 2024, on Earth Day.

The director of the WMG Foundation, Irena Petrović, in her opening address emphasized that this conference is an opportunity to hear the voices of experts, representatives of institutions, organizations and businesses.

Sandra Dokić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, announced the start of the campaign “Cooperate, don’t pollute” through which we will tell to the citizens that they too have their role and to support us.

Siniša Mitrović, head of the Center for Circular Economy, PKS believes that the challenges of the future will force us to reset our habits that we are not ready to give up.

Tijana Koprivica, director of sustainable business at Delta Holding, presented sustainable solutions from the field of construction, but also pointed out that a transition should be made in the field of agriculture, because we use machinery that consumes fossil fuels. When it comes to construction, we have increasingly advanced technology and it is becoming easier to ensure energy efficiency.

Tatjana Matić, director of the Development Fund of the Republic of Serbia, emphasized that the Development Fund is one of the few financial institutions that lends to projects in the field of environmental protection, recycling, and renewable energy sources on very favorable terms.

Radman Šelmić, PhD, adviser of the president of PKS for the green circular economy and digital transformation, pointed out that green investments are less risky in the long term.

The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Jelena Tanasković, emphasized that the digitalization of agriculture enabled the insight and control of the financing of agricultural production, and that despite skepticism, the process of digitalization of the economy was successfully implemented last year.

Andrea Radonjić, corporate affairs manager for Eastern Europe at Tetra Pak emphasized that all materials used by that company are recyclable.

Project team representative Assoc.Prof.  Simonida Vukadnović informed the conference organizer, the hosts from the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and some of the panelists about the current and planned activities at project EDUCIRC2022, and proposed meetings with the aim of potential cooperation regarding the dissemination of research results within the project.
