The EDUCIRC2022 project was presented on May 15, 2024, as part of the event “Training of advisors in the field of application of modern technologies and innovative methods in sustainable agriculture,” held at Educons University in Sremska Kamenica. The project was presented by Asst.Prof. Igor Vukelić, who, after the presentation, answered questions from attendees about project activities and collaboration opportunities.
The event was attended by agricultural advisors, agricultural producers, teaching staff of Educons University, as well as members of the project team: Prof. Mirjana Radovanović, Prof. Vilmoš Tot and Assoc.Prof. Diona Djurdjević. During the workshop, members of the project team actively participated in sessions and discussions, focusing on familiarizing the audience with the importance of circular economy, after which promotional material about the project was distributed. During the event, participants were also presented with and distributed the book “Sustainable Development, Green Transition of Europe and the Western Balkans: Challenges and Perspectives” by Prof. Mirjana Radovanović. Additionally, a brochure titled “Circular Economy as a Driver of Empowerment of Youth in Rural Areas” was presented and distributed. Both publications resulted from the implementation of project activities.
Throughout the event, the project team emphasized the essential importance for agricultural producers, especially advisors, to better understand the concept of circular economy. In this context, proposals for changes and improvements in practice were provided. It was concluded that it is necessary to improve the understanding and application of circular economy in agriculture to achieve sustainability and increase resource efficiency. In this context, the EDUCIRC2022 project represents a significant step forward, as it provides key information and tools to agricultural advisors and producers, thereby contributing to their education and empowerment.
