GREENOVATE https://greenovate-europe.eu/ is an EU project that aimed to develop a network of organizations that support innovation in the field of sustainable development and the circular economy.
Members of the GREENOVATE project team introduced the event participants to the main project results, which show that in the European Union countries only 3% of funds are invested in the circular economy and related initiatives, as well as that the existing financial systems are oriented towards financing the traditional (linear) economic model. In addition, the following main barriers to the transition to a circular economy model appear: technological, institutional, regulatory, market, social and cultural. Participants discussed possible improvements and recommendations that can be offered to public policy makers.
The event was attended by 23 participants from different European countries.
Prof. Dr. Mirjana Radovanović participated as a representative of the EDUCIRC2022 project, with the aim of introducing the project and partners, as well as considering the possibilities of networking and further cooperation. Common to both projects is the goal of providing recommendations to decision-makers, so familiarization with the above was of particular importance.
