“SMARTA NET: development of recommendations for rural mobility” in the organization European Rural Mobility Network.

The panel session pointed out the importance of rural policy in improving rural mobility, since the issue of adequate transport appears as one of the key factors for the further development of rural areas in the European Union. The same conclusion was reached during the implementation of the project in the Republic of Serbia.

The participants were introduced to the results of the SMARTA NET project, which was implemented in the countries of the European Union, with an emphasis on research into the availability and means of transport in rural areas, both for the needs of residents and for the needs of tourists. In addition, the results regarding the demands of the residents of rural areas in the sphere of transport are presented.

The participants were informed in detail about the mentioned outcomes and participated in the discussion. During the discussion, special emphasis was placed on finding opportunities for better connectivity between urban and rural areas, with a focus on operational and financial feasibility analysis of changes that proved to be necessary.
