The webinar’s main theme was exploring innovations in sustainable agriculture and food systems, aimed at building a nature-positive future. It covered a wide range of topics, including renewable energy sources, by-product and waste valorization, and the blue economy. The event brought together leading experts, innovators, and professionals who presented solutions addressing these themes.

The webinar was valuable for all participants, offering the latest solutions and ideas shaping sustainable food systems through discussions with top experts in the field. It was organized into three sessions: sustainable energy, by-product and waste valorization, and the blue economy.

Energy:This session addressed sustainable energy solutions, including renewable electricity, hydrogen, nuclear energy, and their combinations. It highlighted the challenges and opportunities of integrating renewable energy sources into agriculture, along with innovations in energy storage. Experiences in combining renewable and traditional energy sources, particularly in rural areas, were also shared.

By-Product and Waste Valorization: This part of the program focused on transforming waste into useful products and their application in the food industry. It explored materials currently available and those expected to be in use over the next decade, aiming to enhance nutrition and develop affordable, desirable food products. Innovations presented included products derived from natural sources and technological solutions for optimizing waste management.

Blue Economy: This session focused on innovations to reduce carbon emissions in the food system through the sustainable use of marine resources. Solutions were presented for the cultivation of marine organisms, the use of seaweed, and the extraction of valuable components from ocean resources. The importance of oceans in ensuring a sustainable food system and reducing the negative environmental impact was emphasized.

The event was attended by project team member Assistant Bojana Matković, with the aim of learning from the experiences and research of top experts on innovations in sustainable agriculture and food systems, aiming to build a nature-positive future.
