The main theme of the webinar was exploring innovative technological solutions in agriculture and the food industry that contribute to sustainability and environmental protection. The focus was on reducing the carbon footprint, applying artificial intelligence to improve resource management efficiency, developing environmentally friendly packaging materials, and introducing new food production systems aligned with the concept of sustainable development.

The webinar was valuable for all participants and was organized into four sessions:

1.“Livestock Supply Chain Innovation Towards Net Zero”: This session focused on developing new technologies to reduce the carbon footprint in meat and dairy production. It was emphasized that new feed additives, soybean alternatives, and improved breeding practices are key steps towards a more sustainable livestock industry.
2.Artificial Intelligence in Sustainable Agriculture: Projects utilizing artificial intelligence for better decision-making regarding Scope 3 emissions were presented. The Bridge AI program was showcased, enabling automated analysis of greenhouse gas emissions in livestock farming, contributing to more efficient resource management.
3.Sustainable Packaging: This session covered new solutions that enable the food system to become carbon-positive while reducing single-use plastic consumption. The importance of alternative materials that are biodegradable and more easily recyclable was particularly highlighted.
4.New Low-Emission Food Production Systems: This session addressed innovative approaches, including the production of alternative proteins (plant-based, lab-grown, and insect-based) as well as vertical farming. These systems have the potential to significantly reduce the negative environmental impact of food production.

The event was attended by project team member, Assistant Bojana Matković, with the goal of gaining insights from top experts on innovations in sustainable agriculture and food systems, aiming to build a nature-positive future.
